The Union is comprised of 110 multifamily apartments and is located within 2 blocks of the West Oakland BART Station, providing residents direct access to San Francisco and the greater East Bay within a 10 to 15 minute ride. The project is located within the West Oakland Specific Plan and includes significant public infrastructure improvements.

In an area with a tremendous shortage of new housing, the Union is the first of several new projects planned around the West Oakland station. Since the beginning of construction at the Union, there has been close to 1,800 new residential homes and 500,000 square feet of office and retail entitled to be built within a 3-block radius.

The Union was the first project to be completely built utilizing Factory_OS’ modular production techniques. All site construction work at the Union was completed by union labor. After construction of the first-floor podium, all of the modular units were set in just 10 days.
